Core economic research unit of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
He is responsible for two of the UN’s flagship reports, the World Economic and Social Survey and the World Economic Situation and Prospects, as well as for the Secretariat of the United Nations’ Committee for development Policy.
Before joined the UN in 2005, Rob Vos was Professor of Finance and Development at the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague and Professor of Development Economics at the Free University Amsterdam. He has also served as a senior economist at the Inter-American Development Bank and as policy adviser to numerous governments in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
